I JUST SENT MY LAST 25 COPIES OF THE ONE REASON / DEFIANCE, OHIO 7″ TO NO IDEA RECORDS. This means I am COMPLETELY OUT of the 7″ until I get it repressed. I am working on the repress as we speak, so it should only be a month or so before I have more. In the mean time, there’s a slight possibility you might bet able to buy one of the 25 from No Idea in a few days. But you’d have to hurry. THOSE ARE THE LAST OF THE COKE-BOTTLE CLEAR 7″ – The next pressing will be a different color.
I worked a little on some minor updates to the site. I have also been working on getting the One Reason/Defiance, Ohio 7″ repressed, as I am almost completely out. I haven’t talked to Rio de la Muerte in a while, but I trust he’s hard at work on his enhanced CD, which I hope will be out soon.
I’m sorry it’s been so long since I updated this site, i will work in getting the news updated and such, I’ve been busy. Me and Rio de la Muerte are very excited about his upcoming release. You should be, too. In the mean time, check out this review of his self-released CDR (complete with a few MP3 tracks! nice!): http://www.podsauce.com/ (click “music” at the top, then Rio de la Muerte).
Also, check out my friend’s excellent record label (from san francisco) here: http://www.fallofthewest.com. They are good people.
NOTE: if you pre-ordered a Operation: Cliff Clavin/The Max Levine Ensemble gsplit, scroll down to the area in red – very important information!
It’s sure been a while.
Sorry for the lack of updates, kids. I’v been busy, and then I was in Bloomington, Indiana for a week catching great shows and hanging out with great people. But now I’m back, and I realize I have some work to do. Here’s the buzz -
I started to realize this week that my One Reason/Defiance, Ohio 7″ stash is dwindling. I’m down to the wire. Only a few left. I will eventually repress, but I don’t know when that will be, so there mightbe a long absence without them. Also, when I repress, it will not be on the awesome looking coke-bottle green transparent vinyl. So if you want a copy of this very awesome looking, soon to be out-of-print indefinitely 7 inch, then I’d hurry up.
Speking of seven inches, the Operation: Cliff Clavin/The Max Levine Ensemble split should be in my mailbox very soon, and consequently, in your mailboxes as well. If you preordered one of these, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to let me know you address (I don’t know what your living arrangements arem and some of you pre-ordered this a very long time in advance, so i want to make sure all my information is current). Even if you still live at the same place, email me anyway. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! email me your name, your address, and remind me if I owe you anythign else besides the Op:CC/tMLE split (did you order a CD too or anything?). If you do not do this and your ordered is delayed (or overlooked entirely), it is your own fault.
Also, I’d like to point out that I am no longer accepting pre-orders for that split. Stop sending them to me, please!
And speaking of splits, the Pretty Hot/Ghost Mice CD is still available and is amazing as hell. Get yours today and hear two of the greatest bands on one solid CD.
yes, i redesigned the site a little. but that’s not what yuo want to read about. what you want to read about is our record releases. So I’ll tell you…
Pretty Hot/Ghost Mice Split CD
the much anticipated, much delayed, split CD has been, well, delayed again. we should see this release some time in april. Ghost Mice recorded their songs already, including a cover of Fifteen‘s “Petroleum Distillation.” awesome? you bet. Pretty Hot will be working on their recording in March.
Operation: Cliff Clavin/The Max Levine Ensemble Split 7″
this record is actually a Plan-it-X. release, but a bunch of different people and labels contributed and made it a joint release. we helped out too, so we will have a few copies to sell on our end. this record will be out April 1st!
One Reason/Defiance, Ohio Split 7″
this record has been out for a few months now, and it’s just terrific. two new songs by each band on coke bottle green clear vinyl. this just might be the sexiest looking record in your collection. No Idea Records has picked up this record in their distro catalog, so if you don’t want to get them from me, get them from No Idea. a few copies of these were sent to different zines for review (slug and lettuce, punk planet, heartattack, razorcake, amp magazine, maximum rocknroll), so please do me a favor, and if you buy these zines please snip out the review if you come across it and mail it to me.
anti-creative records’s first release is out now! sorry it took so long. we had to battle divine intervention trying to stop this record from being released, but we finally did it. we won. it’s out.
folk-punk all stars Defiance, Ohio from Bloomington, IN team up with Cleveland, MS’s pop-punk heroes One Reason to form the one of the best splits you’ll ever hear! for those of you who are unaware, this 7″ was pressed on “Coke-bottle” green, transparent vinyl (very, very hot) at 33.3RPM. Awesome? Holy shit, you bet.
i picked up the final artwork today from the print shop (with slight errors, even after the printer messed up the first time, too), and we’ve been folding all day and getting everything ready to mail. if you’re amongst the lucky few who sent in a pre-order, you should be recieving your copies soon, as i have already mailed out your copy.
if you haven’t pre-ordered, now is the perfect time to get your copy! each vinyl is $4ppd (but if you can, a little help with shipping would be awesome – perhaps an extra few cents or a buck or some stamps?)
for more information on ordering (such as where to send your money, who to make it out to, or how to pay through PayPal – which we don’t recommend, as you’ll have to pay more), please be sure to check out our order page (click here)
Earlier this week, we here at Anti-Creative Records as well as One Reason and Defiance, Ohio okayed the test press of their upcoming split 7″ record. This means sometime late next week (hopefully), my warehouse (ahem, closet) will be filled with vinyl. If all goes well, the album artwork will be completed by that time as well. It shouldn’t take long for the printers to pump out the finished product once they recieve the artwork.
This means we are oh-so-very-close to Anti-Creative‘s very first release. I’m optimistically guessing two weeks.
For those of you who are unaware, this 7″ will be pressed on “Coke-bottle” green, transparent vinyl (very, very hot) at 33RPM. Awesome? Holy shit, you bet.
We’ve sent off the masters for both sides of the upcoming 7″ split (with Defiance, Ohio and One Reason ) to be plated and pressed. This means we’re only a few short weeks away from our first release! I’ve been listening to the songs that will be on this release almost non-stop ever since I’ve recieved them, and they’re simply incredible. I’m insanely impressed! I think you will be, too. We’ll keep you posted.
Also, we added links to Pretty Hot’s website and their MP3′s! Check the MP3′s section and links section.
Defiance, Ohio finished recording seven songs quite a while ago, two of them for a split with One Reason coming out on anti-creative records (the other five for a split on Plan-it-X Records) . The two songs are a new version of “A Song About Promises” from their demo, this time sung by BZ , and one completely new song! They recorded in Bloomington, IN with their friend Greg .
One Reason will be recording their half of the split August 6th and 7th at The Living Room Studio with Chris George . This is the same place their previous CD was recorded at ( All Rivers Run South, All Roads Lead Home , Plan-it-X Records), and it will sound really good.
Also, we have re-designed the entire site. Hopefully it’s more appealing now.
We made a few changes to the website (slightly different design, all links now working).
We’re still talking to Ghost Mice and Defiance, Ohio about a split on Anti-Creative. Here’s what we know so far…
If D,OH agree to do it, it will be a split 7″ colored vinyl (sexy!). We’re trying to convince each band to cover at least one of the other band’s songs as part of the release. We don’t know how many songs will be on the record (Ghost Mice say they’ll do 4-5 songs, but don’t ask me how they plan on fitting that on one side of a 7″). Ghost Mice have agreed 100% to releasing with us. If D,OH decides not to, expect a split with Ghost Mice and someone else (Chris from Ghost Mice suggests possibly Japanther)!
