Defiance, Ohio is a punk band from Columbus, Ohio. They are known for their extensive touring and intense, enthusiastic live shows. The band has a unique line-up for a punk act, featuring violin, cello, banjo, acoustic and electric guitars, piano, and electric bass (formerly an upright bass). Defiance Ohio’s split 7″ with One Reason was Anti-Creative’s first release.

Ghost Mice is a two-piece folk-punk band from Bloomington, Indiana. Members of the band have been in a handful of pop-punk bands together (namely The Devil is Electric and Operation: Cliff Clavin). Ghost Mice was largely responsible for the huge surge in popularity of folk-punk that started in the middle part of the last decade. They appear on Anti-Creative alongside Pretty Hot on a split CD.

One Reason play melodic punk songs that draw from Southern and indie rock as much as punk. They appeared on Anti-Creative’s first release, a split 7″ with Defiance, Ohio.

Pretty Hot was a side project featuring members from Defiance, Ohio and Cathy Fleabite playing in pop punk stylings. They appear on a split CD with Ghost Mice.

Captain Chaos (Chris Clavin of Ghost Mice’s solo project) plays simple, pure acoustic songs. Some call it folk, or folk punk. Call it whatever you want, but what Clavin plays is always heartfelt and honest. Anti-Creative released a full length Captain Chaos CD.

imadethismistake is folk in the sense of story telling, punk in the sense of ethic, aggressive post-hardcore. Anti-Creative co-released their 12″ EP with Covert Coercion Records and The Cottage Records.

Honest and sad but hopeful, country-influenced, punk rock with raspy vocals. Anti-Creative released a 7″ with them.

Op:CC were an influential DIY political pop-punk band, and one of the first bands on the label Plan-It-X. Anti-Creative Records helped 60 labels, collectives, and individuals with the “community release” of their split 7″ with The Max Levine Ensemble.

The Max Levine Ensemble is a punk band from the Washington, DC metropolitan area. They play punk rock with various pop influences, and often have politically conscious lyrics. imagine the band imadethismistake has suddenly developed a chip on its shoulder, causing it to become a little more aggressive. What results is Indianaoplis-based punk band Iafrate. They were the first (and so far the only) band that took part in our Free Albums series.
